The Capital City Pride Parade and Festival on Sunday, June 22 brings together family, friends and neighbors and draws thousands more from around the region to Washington's capital city. An evening of parties, events, dances and lectures on Saturday, June 21 kicks off Pride weekend. The parade starts at noon Sunday and the festival runs from Noon-5 p.m. at Sylvester Park. See below for special Pride hotel rates.

The 18th Annual Pride Parade starts at noon from the State Capitol Building. With an expanded parade route this year, the parade moves North on Capital Way through downtown Olympia, east on 4th Avenue, South on Washington St. and ends at Sylvester Park - the site of the Pride Festival. Kim Archer returns to Capital City Pride bringing her award-winning heavy soul and groove jam band to Olympia and keeping you on your feet. The Kim Archer Band plays a combination of hi-energy dance, original songs, old school funk, classic soul, and R&B favorites!
Pop/Dance artist Brian Kent headlines Capital City Pride 2008. From New York City, Brian Kent is a high-energy MTV Logo Channel Top-10 Artist. His new music video 'Breathe Life' premiered on MTV's Logo Channel last month. His track 'Drive' has also been #1 on the Sirius OutQ HOT20 list. Brian is also performing on the main stage of New York City Pride 2008.
Enjoy drag performances by our region's best female and male impersonators... And returning to Pride for 2008, it's belly dancing with Troupe-O-Wa, always a crowd favorite at Capital City Pride.
Singer/songwriter Courtney Robbins from Tuscon, Arizona makes her first appearance at Capital City Pride this year. Her blistering guitar style often leaves her fingers bleeding; her straightforward songwriting skills are a figurative match. Courtney has performed around the United States and Tusconscene.com describes her as one of the Arizona region's best artists.
(aka rocco kayiatos) is an up-and-coming, trans, genre-busting, emo-hop mc from San Francisco, whose lyrical skills merge with beats creating a sonic otherworld that snags you in a dance-trance with rhymes that snap, pop and educate. katastrophe was crowned producer of the year by out music awards. He uses his struggle as a trans man and his contested place in contemporary queer and hip hop culture as a springboard to discuss and express larger issues of community, space, privelege, sex and self-worth.
