Capital City Pride is the non-profit organization that presents the annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Parade and Festival in Downtown Olympia, WA.

PARADE ROUTE & DATE:  The Pride parade starts at noon on Saturday, June 17th.  It leaves the capitol grounds, heads north on Capital Way, turns left onto Legion Way, takes a left on Water St and ends at Heritage Park. 

DEADLINE:  The registration deadline for the parade is Thursday, June 15th at 8pm.  Parade entires received after this deadline will be charged a $50.00 manual registration fee. 

PAYMENT:  Capital City Pride uses an online registration and payment system that requires payment at the time of registration using debit or credit card.  If this does not work for you or you wish not to register this way please contact parade@capitalcitypride.net to do a manual registration.

STAGING AREA & LINE UP:  The sign-in booth located at the State Capitol Ellipse (Oval area in front of the Capitol Dome Building) will open at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 17th.  All entries will be assigned a location number and receive further instructions about the parade line up upon arrival.  The principal contact person for your contingent needs to sign in to confirm participation in the parade.  Please arrive no later than 11:15 AM.  Contingents will leave the assembly area at 11:30 AM to move to Capital Way for the parade start at noon. 

PARKING:  State and City of Olympia parking enforcement is not in effect on Saturday, June 17th.  You may park in any available parking spot, however we ask that with the exception of persons with physical disabilities, the ellipse between the Capitol and Temple of Justice be used for parade vehicles only.  One traffic lane in the ellipse must be clear and open to public traffic at all times during the assembly.  The following link provides a map of available parking at the State Capital:  http://olympiawa.gov/city-services/parking/downtown.aspx

PARADE VOLUNTEERS:  Volunteer parade marshals will accompany the parade to ensure the event goes smoothly and safely.  Please follow their instruction during the assembly and parade.  If you have questions or concerns during the procession please direct them to one of the parade marshals.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:  The Capital City Pride Parade and Festival are community and family events.  It is expected that all participants will conduct themselves appropriately in public.  See the complete list of conditions for parade participation attached to the registration form.

For the safety of parade participants, spectators and the general public, and to ensure that the parade is in line with the values of Capital City Pride, parade participants must abide the following terms & conditions:

•   DRIVERS OF ANY AND ALL VEHICLES IN THE PARADE MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE, BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD, AND POSSESS ALL LIABILITY AND PERSONAL INJURY INSURANCE

•   OPERATORS OF MOTORCYCLES MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER LICENSE WITH MOTORCYCLE ENDORSEMENT

•   ALL MOTOR VEHICLES, INCLUDING MOTORCYCLES, MUST ABIDE BY POSTED SPEED LIMITS DURING THE PARADE ROUTE

•   ALL MOTORIZED VEHICLES MUST REMAIN WITHIN THE CENTER TWO LANES OPERATING VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO SPECTATORS IS DANGEROUS AND NOT PERMITTED

•   FULL OR PARTIAL NUDITY OR SEXUALLY SUGGESTIVE BEHAVIOR IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED

•   NO MATERIALS MAY BE THROWN ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE, WALKERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO HAND MATERIALS TO SPECTATORS

•   A SPACE OF 50 FEET BETWEEN UNITS WILL BE ENFORCED, ALL CONTINGENTS ARE REQUIRED TO CLOSE GAPS BETWEEN UNTS WHEN INSTRUCTED BY PARADE OFFICIALS, FAILURE TO DO SO MAY WARRANT REMOVAL FROM THE PARADE

•   CCP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO PROHIBIT ANY MATERIAL WHICH IT DEEMS OBJECTIONABLE OR OTHERWISE IN CONFLICT WITH THE EVENT

•   THE APPLICANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT THE PARADE ENTRY IS SAFE AND SECURE AGAINST HIGH WINDS OR OTHER INCLEMENT WEATHER

•   FREE SPEECH IS A PROTECTED RIGHT, SHOULD YOU ENCOUNTER ANY SORT OF PROTEST DURING THE PARADE DO NOT ENGAGE THE PROTESTORS IN ANYWAY

•   APPLICANT AGREES TO FOLLOW DIRECTION OF CCP PARADE MARSHALS AND BE FAMILIAR WITH PARADE ROUTE

•   FINAL DECISION ON POSITION OF ENTRY IN PARADE RESTS WITH CAPITAL CITY PRIDE

•   CCP CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR EVENT ATTENDANCE OR WEATHER CONDITIONS

•   APPLICANT AGREES TO HOLD CCP HARMLESS FROM ALL LIABILITY RELATED TO THEFT, PERSONAL INJURY OR LOSS

•   IF ANY OF THE AGREEMENT IS VIOLATED, CCP RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TERMINATE THIS AGREEMENT AND REMOVE THE PARTICIPANT FROM THE PARADE
